Here’s how to install macOS Ventura beta on your Mac, irrespective of whether you are an Apple developer or a member of the public beta program.

Installing macOS Ventura Beta on Your Mac: What to Know

Since you will be installing a beta build of a macOS, expect to run into system stability and app compatibility issues. There are quite a few reasons why you should avoid installing macOS Ventura on your Mac for now, but if you can’t wait to try out the new features, you can jump on the beta bandwagon.

Installing the macOS Ventura beta will not erase your Mac or touch the data stored on it. However, it is still recommended that you create a backup in case something goes wrong. You can use Time Machine to back up your Mac.

If you come across bugs and issues, report them to Apple so that the developers can fix them in time for the public release. Once you install the macOS Ventura beta on your Mac, it will automatically receive updates to future beta releases of the OS.

You can downgrade your Mac to macOS Monterey anytime you want, but doing so will completely erase your Mac. Any Time Machine backups created while your Mac was running macOS Ventura will not be compatible with an older macOS release.

Which Macs Are Compatible with macOS Ventura?

With the latest release of macOS Ventura, Apple is dropping support for several older MacBooks, iMacs, and Mac mini models. Almost all Macs launched before 2017 are not supported by Ventura.

The following Macs are compatible with macOS Ventura:
